Shannon was scheduled for an 8 am induction. After waiting 3 hours to get into a delivery room, and 4 more with seemingly nothing happening, things became a whirlwind, and Ellie was born an hour and a half later, to the surprise of all. Congrats to Mommy for making it all the way through with no drugs.

Shannon went into the hospital the evening of 10/20 for a dose of Cervadil and a good night's sleep to prepare her for an expected long delivery by induction the next day. Shortly after that dose was administered, her water broke (11:30pm) and it was contractions every three minutes until Nate was born just over 6 hours later. He began crying and flailing his arms almost immediately, and passed the initial health screen with flying colors. He began trying to suck anything he could as well, and was becoming visibly frustrated that nothing was being put into his mouth.
